Hi,
I haven't written an example of this, but you can do this with the
"User defined" movie type, and a small script that performs the trajectory
frame update and the rotation commands within a per-movie-frame callback
function. You can make arbitrarily complex movies this way which aren't
subject to the limitations that apply to the built-in movie types.
This is described briefly on the vmdmovie plugin documentation page:
