  For stuff like Stride/Surf you can compile them whenever, no rush..
There's not a fully automated way to test all of the plugins as many of them
are just thin graphical wrappers for scripts and other VMD routines,
but assuming that your file permissions are correct and your Tcl/Tk builds
have no problems, I'd expect them to "just work" if everything
compiled correctly. Let me know if you are stuck on anything in particular.
