I have looked through the manuals, but can't find the answer;
Can vmd make solvent surfaces that can be mapped to electrostatic
potentials?
I see it can colour the surface for atom colour, atom charge, etc. but can
it map (or calculate) electrostatic surfaces?
On a related note, when it outputs molecules in Raster3D format, does it
output the surface too, and how good is the Raster3D picture that is
produced?
