Hi all,

Well, I already have had this problem with vmd 1.8 and it still
shows up in 1.8.1b2. Some plugins (webpdbplugin.so and libpsfgen.so)
do not load. I have this message at startup:
---------------------------------------------------------
Unable to open dynamic library
'/usr/local/VMD/vmd-1.8/plugins/LINUX/molfile/webpdbplugin.so'
/usr/local/VMD/vmd-1.8/plugins/LINUX/molfile/webpdbplugin.so: undefined
symbol: acos
Unable to dlopen
'/usr/local/VMD/vmd-1.8/plugins/LINUX/molfile/webpdbplugin.so':

Unable to dlopen plugin file
/usr/local/VMD/vmd-1.8/plugins/LINUX/molfile/webpdbplugin.so

Automatic IMD package could not be loaded:
couldn't load file
"/usr/local/VMD/vmd-1.8/plugins/LINUX/tcl/psfgen1.3/libpsfgen
.so": /usr/local/VMD/vmd-1.8/plugins/LINUX/tcl/psfgen1.3/libpsfgen.so:
undefined symbol: sqrt
Solvate package could not be loaded:
couldn't load file
"/usr/local/VMD/vmd-1.8/plugins/LINUX/tcl/psfgen1.3/libpsfgen
.so": /usr/local/VMD/vmd-1.8/plugins/LINUX/tcl/psfgen1.3/libpsfgen.so:
undefined symbol: sqrt
---------------------------------------------------------

In vmd 1.8 I have recompiled these plugins from source and they
loaded correctly then but for some reason I could not use them
(commands related to these plugins like solvate or topology did
not function). I guess this is the same problem here and I don't
see what I can do to debug this any further.

PS: I run vmd on Mandrake 9.0.

Bye all
