Hi,
I don't know of an automated script for making these movies,
but someone else mentioned to me (some time ago) that they did something
like this by modifying the IED source code and using it with one of our
older movie making scripts. IED is available here, and works with
the AMBER 'ptraj' utility or GROMACS:
  http://mccammon.ucsd.edu/ied/

In order to run IED with VMD, you'll need to install Python libraries
for your version of VMD and your platform:
  http://www.ks.uiuc.edu/Research/vmd/plugins/pythonlib/

If your platform isn't among those that we provide Python libraries for,
it is because that version of VMD doesn't include Python (yet)
either as a result of stability or distribution issues, and you'll want
to use one of the platforms that does include Python support.
